Requirements: The principle activities of this role are reviewing structural shop drawings, design and specification development, recommending revisions and project planning in relation to the projects structural requirements.
To be successful in this role you would be able to demonstrate experience and knowledge in the following:
• Thorough understanding of local and international design codes and standards.
• Ability to use structural analysis and design software, preferably a combination of STAAD, ROBOT, ETABS, SAFE, ADAPT and AutoCAD.

This position requires strong leadership and Client facing skills as well as the ability to work with a team in a multi-disciplinary environment.

Duties and responsibilities:
• The Head of CLU is responsible for the day to day operation of the unit
• To execute the strategic plan in support of the university mission and objectives in terms of laboratory services to students, faculty members and other stakeholders
• To oversee method validation and development in the area of specialization
• To oversee Internal Quality Control and Proficiency Testing Programs
• To oversee technical support, trainings and design for analytical procedures applying standard testing procedures in the area of specialization to the unit's external services, faculties and students.
• To oversee the unit's Safety Procedures and Chemical Hygiene Plan
• To determine the Unit budget and needs for equipments, chemicals and supplies.
• Perform the annual evaluation of the staff in the CLU
• To compile the annual report for the unit
